How Reconcile Sheets handles spreadsheet data and run metadata.
Reconcile Sheets has no external application backend, user database, advertising system, or product analytics endpoint. Spreadsheet rows are processed within Google Apps Script.
Data the add-on processes
When you start a reconciliation, the add-on reads the selected sheets in the current spreadsheet, including headers, selected key columns, and columns with corresponding headers. It uses those values to classify matches, differences, missing records, duplicates, and optional approximate-match suggestions.
How results are stored
The add-on creates a new result sheet in the current spreadsheet. The result can contain selected keys, row numbers, classifications, explanations, similarity scores, and compared-field differences. Spreadsheet collaborators may access the result according to the spreadsheet's sharing permissions.
The add-on also stores compact metadata for up to 20 completed runs in the spreadsheet's document properties: a generated run identifier, timestamps, source and destination sheet names, row counts, completion status, and aggregate result counts. It does not store source rows or cell values in this history. You can view and clear this metadata from the sidebar.
External transfer and sharing
Reconcile Sheets does not send spreadsheet rows to a server operated by Reconcile Sheets, sell personal data, share it for advertising, or use it to train artificial-intelligence models. Processing and storage described above use Google's infrastructure and are also subject to your agreement with Google.
OAuth permissions
The add-on requests permission to display a sidebar and to access the spreadsheet where it is installed and used. It does not request general Google Drive, Gmail, contacts, or calendar access.
Google API Services User Data Policy
Reconcile Sheets' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Operational logs
Google Apps Script may retain technical execution logs. Reconcile Sheets emits only compact error events such as the failed processing stage and error type. The application is designed not to log spreadsheet cell contents, keys, amounts, names, email addresses, or source rows.
Retention and deletion
Source rows are not retained by a Reconcile Sheets backend because no such backend exists. Result sheets remain until a spreadsheet editor removes them. Run metadata remains in the document properties until it is displaced by newer entries, cleared through the sidebar, or removed with the document according to Google's behavior.
Security and collaborators
The result sheet uses a warning-only protection against accidental edits; this is not access control. Anyone with sufficient access to the spreadsheet may view or change its content. Choose spreadsheet sharing permissions appropriate to your data.
Children
Reconcile Sheets is a business productivity tool and is not directed to children.
Changes
Material changes to this policy will be published on this page with a revised effective date. If a future version introduces an external backend or additional OAuth scope, this policy will be updated before that version is released.
